How the random team generator works

Paste your list, one entry per line, set how many teams you want, and press "Generate teams." Everyone is shuffled first, then dealt out round-robin so team sizes stay as even as possible — if the list doesn't divide evenly, the extra members are spread across different teams rather than piled onto one.

Press the button again any time for a completely fresh random split.

How are teams kept balanced?
Everyone is shuffled first, then dealt out one at a time across the teams in order, so sizes differ by at most one person.
What if I ask for more teams than people?
You'll get an error — you can't have more teams than there are items to split up.
Is my list saved anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
